Angular contact ball bearings can simultaneously withstand both radial and axial loads. Since single-row angular contact ball bearings can only carry axial loads in one direction, they are typically installed in pairs. For paired applications, it is most convenient to use matched angular contact ball bearings with pre-adjusted internal clearance. The contact angle between the steel balls and the inner and outer rings is available in 15°, 25°, and 40°. A larger contact angle provides greater axial load capacity, while a smaller contact angle is more favorable for high-speed rotation. In general, high-precision and high-speed bearings typically use a 15° contact angle.

Under demanding operating conditions — such as near the bearing's limiting speed or temperature, with insufficient lubrication, or under heavy vibration and moment loads — certain cage types may not be suitable. In such cases, please consult Welink's technical center in advance.

During operation, if the bearing load is too light and the ratio of axial to radial load on a paired duplex bearing exceeds the value of e (listed in the bearing dimension table), sliding may occur between the balls and raceways, causing smearing damage. This tendency is more pronounced in large-size angular contact ball bearings with heavier balls and cages. Please anticipate such load conditions and consult Welink's technical center when selecting bearings.
