Self-aligning ball bearings feature a spherical outer ring raceway design, where the center of curvature of the outer ring raceway coincides with the bearing center. This allows the inner ring, rolling elements, and cage to tilt slightly relative to the outer ring, providing excellent self-aligning performance. When shaft misalignment occurs due to machining errors, mounting deviations, or shaft deflection, self-aligning ball bearings can automatically compensate for it, reducing operational issues caused by misalignment. They are therefore particularly suitable for applications where shaft and housing alignment is difficult or where the shaft is prone to deflection.

Self-aligning ball bearings primarily carry radial loads and can also withstand a certain degree of axial load, but they are not suitable for pure axial loads. Thanks to their self-aligning capability, these bearings are well-suited for low-speed or medium-low-speed applications that require good self-aligning performance. When the required load capacity exceeds the range of self-aligning ball bearings, self-aligning roller bearings—which offer the same self-aligning capability but higher load capacity—can be selected as an alternative.

Welink self-aligning ball bearings are widely used in equipment such as woodworking machinery, textile machinery, and drive shafts. To meet different installation requirements, we offer both cylindrical bore and tapered bore designs. Tapered bore bearings typically have a taper ratio of 1:12, designated by the suffix "K," making installation and adjustment easier through adapter sleeves and similar methods.

Additionally, Welink offers sealed self-aligning ball bearings. Equipped with contact seals on both sides, the seal lips maintain appropriate preload against the smooth chamfer of the inner ring, effectively reducing grease leakage and minimizing the risk of dust, contaminants, and moisture entering the bearing interior. This makes them ideal for applications with high demands on sealing performance and operational reliability.
